Customers who shop at Giant Eagle online through Instacart are now able to use Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as a method of payment.

Now, Giant Eagle customers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and Indiana can shop online for same-day delivery from more than 200 Giant Eagle stores.

“We are committed to creating meaningful value and a convenient shopping experience for every Giant Eagle customer. Since the start of our partnership last September, Instacart has supported that commitment by making same-day delivery in as fast as an hour available to our customers,” said Justin Weinstein Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer at Giant Eagle. “Not only is Instacart now able to accept EBT payment through their app, but they have also integrated our myPerks loyalty program enabling customers to earn perks and unlock savings on the products they love, whether they choose to shop in our stores, at GiantEagle.com or via Instacart.”

According to Giant Eagle, SNAP participants can shop for groceries from the store using Instacart's website or mobile app. Grocery orders can be delivered in as fast as an hour or scheduled several days in advance.

Customers can use EBT as payment by adding their card information as a form of payment in their Instacart profile. At checkout, customers can select how much of their SNAP benefits they would like to allocate to their eligible order.

Additionally, Giant Eagle customers can also add their myPerks loyalty card to their Instacart profile to earn perks on purchases and to receive discounted pricing.
