Erie’s Pridefest is returning this weekend but with a new name, location and schedule.

Pride on the Bay starts Saturday at 1 p.m. at Liberty Park. It’s open to everyone. There will be food trucks, dozens of vendors and performances from drag queens. There will also be resources on HIV and STI prevention.

The pride parade, now a separate event, will happen Sunday. It starts at 1 p.m. The parade route is from 11th Street to Perry Square in Erie.

“At the end of the day, the straight community hasn’t seen the aggressions the queer community has seen…hasn’t had their rights stripped or ever even given to them,” said Alex Sphon, president of NWPA Pride Alliance.
