The Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission Tuesday ordered three current and former Greene Township supervisors to repay $6,000 apiece for bonuses they paid themselves.

Erie News Now broke the story in November 2021.

Then-supervisors Natalie Zimmer, John Bartnicki and Richard Allgeier used American Rescue Plan Act funds to pay themselves bonuses of $10,000 apiece.

They later, retroactively, sought and obtained auditor approval, but the State Ethics Commission began investigating, and the parties reached settlements in the matter.

As part of the consent agreements between the supervisors and the state, the three have each been found to have violated the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act. They each have 30 days to repay the township $6,000.
