On this Labor Day, we share the work of an Erie-based business providing needed finishing touches to homes and other companies. We introduce you to who is behind the operation in this week's Giving You the Business Report.

The shop where aluminum and stainless steel railings are made is created right off West 12th Street, in the City of Erie at Brozko Incorporated. Wondering what the name means? Erie News Now was told it’s a Russian/Ukrainian word.

"It really translates to catchy or shiny," said Igor.

Igor Burykin is originally from Ukraine but has lived in the U.S. for 25 years and worked in construction.

His business partner, Dennis, the CEO, has longtime experience installing railings all over the U.S. The duo combined their skills and launched Brozko in 2021.

"Everything’s fully manufactured in-house other than our paint, and that’s done locally because we do power-coated paint," said Igor.

Their work spans local and national jobs where railings are custom-made for both residential and commercial customers.

One of the bigger projects here in Erie is this staircase here at Great Lakes Insurance off 12th Street. It’s a stainless steel cable but it’s not the only thing Brozko did here.

Additionally, on the roof of Great Lakes, there’s more than 250 feet of railing that Brozko did. It’s an area where private parties can be held, providing a different perspective in the City of Erie.

The rust-resistant material used is described as perfect for Erie winters.

The intimate Brozko team offers free estimates, designs ideas of customers and gets to work for the final product.
