Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but the city of Warren is already embracing the holiday spirit.

Crews recently installed the city’s iconic 25-foot Christmas tree at the Point, in front of the historic Flatiron Building downtown. This annual tradition marks the official start of the festive season for the community.

“The tree is always a highlight of the season,” said Joe Reinke, City of Warren Superintendent of Public Works. “It's something we look forward to every year. We have a family in town that has an abundance of trees on their property and each year they have allowed us to pick out a tree, cut it down and bring it here to the Point.”

The downtown Christmas tree is just one of many ways Warren is celebrating the season. Over at Warren Area High School, Molly Dies’ Dance Express is gearing up for its 6th Annual Christmas Spectacular. The production, which features singing, dancing, and an original holiday play written by the cast, has become a cornerstone of the local holiday calendar.

Performances will run from Friday, November 29th, through Sunday, December 1st, at the high school, located at 345 East 5th Avenue. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Cast members expressed their excitement about the upcoming show. “It’s exciting to perform for the community,” said Rocco Siliano. “We’ve put a lot of work into this, and we can’t wait to share our show with everyone.”

"It's definitely not the Christmas season without the Christmas Spectacular," added fellow cast member, Noel Alexander. "It's definitely a favorite tradition."

"We are very excited to be doing our hometown, high-kicking Christmas Spectacular, bringing it back on the Warren Area High School stage," stated Molly Dies-Geer, Owner/Director of Molly Dies’ Dance. "The cast has been working very hard to make this a performance to remember."

With the Christmas tree in place downtown and a fun, family-friendly holiday production on the horizon, Warren appears to be very ready to make this season one to remember.
