How People in Corry Are Handling Blizzard
The snowbelt of southern Erie County is expected to get the most snow during this winter storm.
Corry Police said, for the most part, everything was running smooth as of Thursday afternoon.
Drivers getting stuck accounted for most of the problems.
In preparation for the storm, the department worked with other agencies.
“In regards to a snow storm like this, we are in close communication with the public works department and their street supervisor," said Lt. Jordon Kitchen. "It's he's always a phone call away. Same with us. If they need something, if we need something. It's a good working relationship.”
Roads in downtown Corry were snow-covered but passable. Hiram’s Marketplace was one of the businesses that stayed open.
Owner Buzz Hammond said it was important to stay open during the storm
“We're getting prepared for our big event Christmas in Corry tomorrow evening on our first Friday," he said. "There's nothing that we need more than have our shelves stocked and ready for all the participants. Mr. or Mrs. Santa Claus are going to be here, and we want to make sure that we've got plenty of candy for them."
