The Union City Police Department (UCPD) is inviting the public to share Christmas cookies with officers tonight. 

The meet and greet will be held at the City Building beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 12. 

Officers say the goal of the open meeting is to have dialogue with the public about what's going on in their neighborhoods so the department can better protect and serve the community. 

UCPD will also hand out packets that contain crime fighting tips, procedures in reporting crime, and the daily operations of the department.
