There's still a few weeks to get Christmas shopping done and people had the chance to support local businesses and vendors with the Miracle on State Street event on Saturday.

The Boston Store was a one-stop shop on for people looking to support local businesses and cross off items off their Christmas lists.

As business owner, Julie Shanahan explained, "It takes a village to run a small business in the city and I don't think people realize how appreciative we are as small businesses for our community for these events."

Shanahan just started her business, Shanahan Shenanigans this year, "This is like the trend right now, the Simmer Pot. Everyone wants their house to smell cozy for the holidays, so it's fresh cinnamon sticks, clove, white pine, it's dehydrated oranges and cranberries and you throw everything into a pot, whether its on the stove or a crock pot and let it simmer and everything smells beautiful."

She said these events allows her show off her product to the community.

Vendors fairs also allow fellow new business owners to to get their name in the community as they are just getting started.
Gianna Hardmon, the owner of Glitz and Glam explained what gave her the idea to start her business this year, "I love these bracelets so much, maybe I should start making my own and see where it goes."

After post-postponements and delays due to weather, the Christmas spirit was alive and well inside the Boston Store as many vendors were finally able to sell their goods they had been working on all year long.

"Me and all the other vendors have been working so hard to make Small Business Saturday really special for everyone and that ways there is something special for everyone", said Hardmon.

There was also different promotions and events at the Erie Art Museum, Ascend Climbing Gym, and the Holiday Bazaar at 1020 Collective.
