Scammers stole nearly $9,000 in Bitcoin from a Fairview Township woman, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The theft was reported Dec. 21 to troopers.

A 90-year-old woman believed someone had taken control of her computer and demanded money to return the system back to normal, investigators said.

A total of $8,950 in Bitcoin was stolen, according to troopers.

Investigators said they are still looking to identify the suspects involved.
