Part of Interstate 79 in Crawford County reopened Thursday afternoon after a tractor trailer crash.
The southbound lanes were closed between exit 156 for Saegertown and exit 165 for Edinboro.
Winter weather is also causing speed limits to drop to 45 miles per hour on several interstates in northwest Pennsylvania. Affected roads include:
- Interstate 79 from Exit 116A (Interstate 80 East, Clarion) to Exit 147A (Route 6/Route 322, Meadville)
- Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line to Exit 45 (Route 478, St. Petersburg/Emlenton)
- Interstate 86 from the Interstate 90 interchange to the New York state line
- Interstate 90 from the Ohio state line to the New York state line.
- Interstate 376 from the Interstate 80 interchange to Exit 2 (Route 18, West Middlesex).
PennDOT said commercial vehicles must stay in the right lane on these roads.
Crews are working to make the roads passable but warn roads may not be completely free of ice and snow.
